Welcome from the Head Teacher

Welcome to Northway and thank you for visiting our website. Whether you are a parent, pupil (past or present), prospective employee, or just browsing, I hope you will find lots of things to interest and inform you.

We are really proud of our school. It is a happy and successful school, with a team of talented, hard-working and committed staff who are dedicated to doing the very best for your child.

We are equally proud of the wonderful young people in our school who impress us on a daily basis with their talent, involvement and commitment. The children are the key to the success of any school and I am delighted that our pupils are so well behaved, interested and motivated. They contribute greatly to school and bring it to life with their positive attitudes and enthusiasm.

The children and their learning are at the heart of everything we do. They inspire our governors and staff to develop the vision for our school as set out here:

Northway School exists to provide its pupils with the best possible learning situation. It aspires to achieve this in a happy, caring and safe atmosphere where we, the pupils, parents and staff, are encouraged to see value in ourselves, in each other and in the community and environment in which we live and work.

We take great delight and pride in seeing and sharing in the growth and development of our pupils into Northway Learners- well rounded individuals ready for the next steps in their learning journey. High expectations, challenge and support delivered through a relevant and varied school curriculum supplemented by the many extra-curricular activities available are crucial to this.

We are proud recipients of the National Healthy Schools Award, Active Mark awarded by Sports England, Basic Skills Quality Mark, the Sing Up and Eco Schools awards. These national acknowledgements highlight the excellent impact the hard work and commitment of pupils, parents, staff and governors has had on standards in these areas within our curriculum and extra curriculum provision.

A website can answer some of your questions, but please arrange a visit to Northway to experience its ethos and special feel. You will discover a vibrant and hard-working school, where pupils learn within a happy, caring and safe atmosphere.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
