Seesaw is a learning journal we use for all pupils in Years 1 to 6. Children add items to their own journals independently for a range of different subjects.
Seesaw is a great resource that records everything we do that isn't in a book. We love developing our speaking and listening, performing, reading and recording using our digital learning journeys.
The best part is that we share everything with parents. If you are not connected to your child's Seesaw journal, please use the contact form below to contact Mr Jones
Seesaw is a secure online Learning Journal to record photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years curriculum, to build up a record of your child’s experiences during their time with us. This system allows us to work with parents and carers to share information and record the children’s play and learning in and outside of the classroom.
Seesaw provides each individual child with their own Learning Journal held online. Parents and carers are given their own log-in. All our staff are given a secure log-in.
Parents can change their settings so that an email is then automatically generated informing them when an observation has been added so they can have a look and add any comments of their own.
We will show you how to download the Seesaw parent app in school and give you a unique code for your child.
You can choose to share your log in details with extended family if you wish, so they can see your child’s Learning Journal. All new users will need to be approved by the class teacher, who may ask you about new requests that are made.
Once logged in, you will see your child’s observations on your home screen in a list – selecting any one of these will open up the observation for you to look at. You may add comments in the box at the bottom of the observation if you would like to – and we would love to receive such comments!
The system will automatically send you an email when an observation for your child has been added.
At school we have access to all of the children’s Learning Journals. The only other people that can see your child’s account will be yourselves and anyone that you share your log in details with, such as Grandparents etc. If your child is featured in a group observation, their photo may appear in another child’s Learning Journal.
Class Teachers may share announcements about assemblies or events happening within the classroom. This information is class specific and does not replace any other communication systems that are already in place such as Emails, Text Messages, Phone Calls and Letters- which are whole school communication tools. Parents can message class teachers directly using the Seesaw app. Whilst we will endeavour to answer any queries about the classroom, the tool is for more general academic purposes. Please do not expect teachers to respond to messages during unsociable hours. Teachers will not respond to messages that may be too sensitive and require a face-to-face meeting, which can be organised through the school office.
We really hope that you enjoy using Seesaw and that it helps to keep you feeling informed about your child’s learning. If you have any questions or problems using Seesaw then please contact Mr Jones using the form below.
